KiPiDi goes to Green Village

The Bright Future Day Care Centre in Green Village is the home to the KiPiDi | Start Your Own Business – Entrepreneurship Workshop for the next six weeks.

The Head Mistress, Mrs Veronica Mosito, has made the day care centre available for the KiPiDi workshop, and we thank her and the centre’s Governing Body for their generosity.

Starting your own business is an iterative process, continuously making improvements to the products and services your business brings to the market. KiPiDi is no different. The insights we gleaned from our first workshop in Slovoville will be applied in the Green Village workshops.

Group work, class discussions and the opportunity to stand up and present in front of one’s peers (stressful as it may be for some!) is the best way to learn. And that’s how we kicked off the workshop in Green Village.

The concepts of entrepreneurial mindset and entrepreneurial intention were introduced before the floor was opened to an intensive discussion of the qualities and characteristics entrepreneurs displayed and their relative importance.

Needless to say, there is no right or wrong answer! That was never the intention. Instead each member of the class had an opportunity to develop their thinking on the topic, share their thoughts in a structured manner, and defend why they chose and rated certain characteristics as “more important / desirable” than others.

The “Five Whys” was the tool of the day, as class members revisited their childhood and remembered how their curiosity was often satisfied by the question “why?”!

Homework time came all too quickly. The assignment, come prepared to present and defend your top three characteristics entrepreneurs require and provide examples of entrepreneurs who possess these qualities.
