“In every era, warriors have risen – men and women of unyielding strength, courage, and resilience who have shaped history. They navigated their way through adversity with unwavering conviction and fought for their people’s futures. At KiPiDi, we harness this warrior spirit to empower a new generation of entrepreneurs.”

What we do

We bring entrepreneurship education to those who need it most – Kasi

For those trapped in the in the “not employed or in education” statistic, KiPiDi provides a much needed skills development intervention for the unemployed struggling to sustain themselves economically.

While entrepreneurship education is being integrated into both secondary and tertiary curricula, who’s focusing upon the millions of unemployed South Africans who have never had the benefit of such an education?

How we do it

The KiPiDi Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, developed and facilitated by KiPiDi Founder and CEO Amanda Mathule, is held over eight consecutive Saturdays in a local community based venue.

Facilitated in both First Language and English, the workshop applies a combination of passive and active learning techniques to building entrepreneurial intention that translates into action.

Who we do it for

Our focus is upon those who live at the bottom of the pyramid in our townships.

The workshop is designed for adults, young and old alike, who either want to start their own business but do not know how, or who have crossed the entrepreneurial intention / action divide but find themselves trapped in survivalist entrepreneur mode lacking the required knowledge and skills to move forward.

Why we do it

In a low to no growth economy like South Africa, employment is not an option available for the vast majority of people of working age.

The KiPiDi SYOB workshop is our contribution to helping those who are unemployed and living in Kasi to build an alternative way of sustaining themselves economically other than through employment, social transfers, and family support.

Where we are going

Scalable in nature: in analogue by replicating the KiPiDi mobile classroom in every township in South Africa by equipping and empowering local facilitators in the KiPiDi Way; digitally through our online learning platform.

Above all else, KiPiDi is about creating a South Africa where all have a stake in the economy, a vested interest created through one’s own blood, sweat and tears, something to lose. Call it economic freedom.
